The 108 Names of Shri Shiva with Transliteration and Translation

The Shiva Ashtottara Shatanamavali is a revered list of 108 names of Lord Shiva, each highlighting a distinct attribute or aspect of this beloved deity.

Lord Shiva represents the infinite, formless essence of the universe, embodying both destruction and creation in an eternal cycle of transformation. He is the stillness at the heart of chaos, the ultimate yogi who transcends time, space, and material illusion. His third eye symbolizes inner vision and wisdom, while his crescent moon represents mastery over time. The Ganges flowing from his locks signifies the purification of consciousness, and his blue throat, from consuming the poison of the cosmos, represents his role as the absorber of negativity. As Nataraja, the cosmic dancer, his dance of destruction paves the way for rebirth and renewal, teaching that dissolution is necessary for evolution. In essence, Shiva is the supreme reality—both the void and the fullness—guiding seekers beyond illusion (Maya) to ultimate liberation (Moksha).

Below are the 108 names of Shri Shiva, presented with their IAST transliteration and English translations:
