About Kanta Barrios
Kanta had her first experience of yoga at the age of six in her hometown of Mexico City. She spent 12 years as a student of yoga, meditation, and philosophy in Siddha Yoga Meditation Ashrams in India, the United States and around the world, traveling with her teacher, Gurumayi Chidvilasananda.
Trained in Anusara, Ashtanga and Iyengar yoga, Kanta’s classes are creative, challenging and dynamic and strongly emphasize breathing and alignment, though always with an invigorating flow and pace. The intention of each class is to cultivate strength, develop awareness and help students find balance, light-heartedness and rejuvenation within them-selves. In her teaching Kanta expresses her deep love and gratitude for yoga and for her teachers and joyfully shares her lifelong experience and practice with her students. Kanta is passionate about yoga therapeutics, meditation and philosophy. She believes a steady yoga and meditation practice with a clear intention can open and strengthen the body, mind and heart and allow us to improve every aspect of our lives.
